Hacettepe University Regulation on Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examinations (published in the Official Gazette dated 30 July 2025 and numbered 32971, and applicable as of the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year)

“Where just and valid grounds exist, the relevant administrative board shall decide whether students who were unable to attend a midterm examination are to be deemed excused. For an excuse to be accepted, the just and valid grounds must be reported to the relevant unit, together with supporting documents, within one week following the end of the excuse. Applications not submitted within the prescribed period shall not be accepted. The dates of make-up examinations shall be announced by the relevant unit. These students shall exercise their right to take the midterm examination before the final examination period. No second make-up examination shall be granted for a midterm make-up examination.” (Article 27(7))

Students who were unable to attend a midterm examination due to an excuse must apply to the Student Affairs Office within one week following the end of the excuse, submit documents proving the just and valid grounds for their excuse, and deliver their petition to this office. (Application Deadline: 24 April 2026)

The practice of students who were unable to attend a midterm examination due to an excuse notifying the instructor of the course of their excuse, whether in person, by e-mail, or by any other means, has been discontinued.
